Onsior Solution for Injection is a prescription non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and inflammation in cats and dogs, especially around the time of surgery. The active ingredient, robenacoxib, provides fast and targeted pain relief with minimal impact on the digestive system.

Dosage
- For Cats:
- Dose: 2 mg/kg once daily
- Given subcutaneously (under the skin)
- Treatment duration: up to 3 consecutive days
- Typically administered within 30 minutes before surgery
- For Dogs:
- Dose: 2 mg/kg once daily
- Administered subcutaneously
- Also used for up to 3 days, around the time of surgery
- Only your veterinarian should calculate the exact dose and administer the injection
- May be followed by oral Onsior tablets to continue pain management
Warnings and Precautions
- Not for use in animals under 4 months of age or under 2.5 kg body weight
- Not intended for long-term use
- Do not use with other NSAIDs or corticosteroids
- Use caution in pets with existing kidney, liver, heart, or gastrointestinal conditions
- Not recommended during pregnancy, lactation, or breeding
- Always inform your vet about any other medications your pet is receiving
How to Use
- Administered only by a licensed veterinarian
- Given as an injection under the skin, once daily
- Usually starts just before or during surgery
- Your vet may transition your pet to Onsior tablets for continued care at home
Storage
- Store at 15–30°C (59–86°F)
- Protect from light
- Use within 28 days after the vial is first punctured
- Keep out of reach of children and animals
Side Effects
- Common: mild swelling at injection site, vomiting, soft stool, reduced appetite
- Possible: tiredness, increased drinking
- Serious (contact your vet immediately): black or bloody stool, yellow gums or eyes, facial swelling, difficulty breathing, allergic reactions
